Catstravaganza Performers

Monica Worth has performed as a vocalist for nearly 40 years. Her work reflects the influence of great players like Dizzy Gillespie, Elvin Jones, and Dexter Gordon, and singers as diverse as Little Jimmy Scott, Patsy Cline, and Tony Bennett.

Monica has collaborated with a fine cadre of musicians, including Keter Betts (longtime bassist for Ella Fitzgerald), drummer Jimmy Cobb (who recorded with Miles Davis on the influential album "Kind of Blue"), pianist Larry Willis (who has accompanied Carmen McRae, Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz, Clifford Jordan and a dozen more jazz giants), and Steve Novosel (bassist for Roland Kirk, Al Grey and David "Fathead" Newman). In 2000, Worth recorded the album NEVER LET ME GO with the Larry Willis Trio on Mapleshade Records.

Bob Bennetta is a jazz pianist, educator, and composer from Charlottesville, Virginia, where he has been performing for 25 years. He has played 500 Friday night gigs at Fellini's Restaurant and has played countless other performances locally, whether solo, with a small group, or with a big band.

Monica and Bob have been performing together for the past four years, in duo or trio formats and with the big band, Sentimental Journey.

Funds raised at Catstravaganza will be used for programs that help the county’s stray, abused, and abandoned cats, including:
-
Flint Hill Adoption Center, the only state-approved cat shelter in Rappahannock County, where we care for and rehome adoptable cats;
-
Family Assistance Program, helping needy Rappahannock County residents by providing free or no-cost cat spay/neuter and other veterinary services, and food and other support necessary for cat heath and welfare; and
-
Foster care for kittens and homeless, sick or injured adult cats, that cannot be cared for at the shelter.
RappCats is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) cat rescue. We depend entirely on private funds for our programs; we get no government assistance. We cannot do our work without your support. Thank you.
